Acoustax Applications Include:
Highway noise walls
Highway noise is the most pervasive noise in the environment. Acoustax is designed to absorb highway noise, not reflect it, and withstand the harsh environment alongside the nation's roads. With a base metal of aluminum coated with powder coat paint specially designed to give years of service in the harsh environment along highways. In situations where colors become an issue Acoustax barriers can be painted different colors. A recent application called for brick red on the highway side of the wall and beige on the neighborhood side. Ease of installation is a major advantage of Acoustax noise walls. Once the support beams are in place the Acoustax panels are slid into the beam pockets.
Railway noise walls
Railway noise must be absorbed so that it is not reflected back off of the side of the train. Acoustax absorbs railway noise and is easily removed when access to the railway is needed. Acoustax panels reduce unwanted noise at specific locations such as unloading areas. Another area where Acoustax noise barriers can help is wheel noise. Wheel noise is a major culprit in railroad noise applications. Walls 4 to 5 feet tall can have a major impact by absorbing wheel noise.
Airport noise barriers
Airport noise from ground operations and run-up areas can be effectively shielded by Acoustax noise barriers. Acoustax is especially well suited for installation on top or perimeter earth beams where site limitations restrict the width and height of the beam. Acoustax noise barrier systems can be designed to shield specific locations like computer centers.
Security fence
Perimeter fencing is a necessary element for maintaining a secure facility. Acoustax prevents intrusion and scalability with solid panels and light-tight joints.
Obscuration screens
Acoustax keeps prying eyes and ears from observing facility operations with light-tight, sound-proof walls. Solid perimeter fencing used with closed circuit video systems provides privacy and security for sensitive installations.
Bridge and roof mounted noise barriers
At only 3 pounds per square foot, there are no lighter noise barrier systems available for use shielding noisy equipment on building roofs. Acoustax reduces dead loads on highway bridges and at the same time absorbs noise from closely spaced parallel walls. Acoustical hard clear plastic or solid metal walls become acoustically useless when reverberant noise reduces their effectiveness.
Industrial noise control panels
Sound absorptive and low in weight, Acoustax is a versatile panel system adaptable to solve any industrial noise problem. Panels are handled by hand making installation inexpensive and fast. Use Acoustax in freestanding barrier walls or mounted in walls or ceilings to absorb unwanted reverberant noise. Acoustax panels coupled with our system of aluminum extrusions make assembly of noise enclosures a very easy and economical method to reduce factory and machine noise.
Construction - Acoustax enclosure systems around noisy construction equipment like air compressors and jack hammers that are easily movable can greatly reduce construction site noise. This is good for exposed workers and the surrounding community.
School Enclosures - Installations have been made at schools where chiller or air conditioner noise was affecting the learning process. Free standing panels using support beams have been successfully installed. Several panels have been retrofitted to existing masonry walls to reduce reflected noise.
